CALL FOR ENTRY
Brendle Group, Fort Collins, Colorado
212 Mulberry Project
Budget: up to $ 2500

INTRODUCTION
Brendle Group, an environmentally focused engineering consulting firm, seeks an artist, or group of artists, to collaborate with a project design team to create site-integrated artwork for their new facility. The artwork must utilize recycled or reclaimed materials in its design to serve as a lasting showcase for sustainability within the community.

SCOPE OF WORK
Brendle Group is seeking artists to collaborate with their project design team for site-specific artwork for their new office headquarters and permanent home. This building, located at 212 West Mulberry Street in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado, will be renovated to incorporate renewable energy technologies and sustainable materials. An existing structure adjacent to the building will be de-constructed and its materials salvaged as part of the project. Please see http://www.brendlegroup.com/ourhome for more details about the renovation. Brendle Group seeks to commission the artist(s) to create artwork that is partially or fully comprised of recycled and/or reclaimed materials. This may include, but is not limited to, sculpture utilizing found objects, glass, ceramics, metal, mixed media, fiber, painting and/or wood. Kinetic sculpture that utilizes the natural elements in its design or generates electricity may also be accepted. This artwork will be utilized in an outdoor garden setting adjacent to the building with Mulberry Street views, and/or within the interior of the office space in either the reception area or main conference room. Any exterior designs must discourage transient activity and help to mitigate vandalism. The selected artist(s) will help to design, develop and install this artwork.
Artist(s) should demonstrate:
· A proven ability to successfully develop art concepts within a collaborative design team process
· Successful completion of large scale public art projects on schedule and within budget
· The ability to communicate ideas in written, oral and graphic formats

ELIGIBILITY
This project is open to all professional artists, legally residing in and authorized to work in the United States. Artist(s) must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with the project’s design team. The design team may select more than one artist to complete site-specific artworks for this project.

BUDGET
This budget is all-inclusive. The budget includes all costs associated with the project including, but not limited to: artist’s design fee, travel, materials, fabrication costs, documentation, transportation and installation of work. The total amount shall be up to $2500. Partial awards may be made if more than one artist is selected.

ARTIST SELECTION PROCESS
A selection committee will consist of the President, Chief Operating Officer and Administrative Services Manager of Brendle Group; a member of the City of Fort Collins Art in Public Places Board of Directors; and representatives from the 212 Mulberry Design Team. The committee will review application materials and make a final recommendation. The selection committee reserves the right to reject any or all entries at any time in the review and selection process. One or more artists may be chosen during an initial review process or after an interview process. The artist(s) will be awarded a design contract with Brendle Group. The artist(s) will work with the Project Team on the overall project and develop concepts for the site. If the artist(s) concepts are approved, the artist(s) will create a detailed proposal, budget and timeline for construction of the art element(s). Subject to final approval from the committee, the artist will be awarded a contract for this project.
