| add to favorites | Funeral Gourd Urn | $ 325.00 | |
| A Hungry Holler gourd urn serves as memorial art. Your pet's image will be foremost. Tell me stories that make you laugh and make you smile and I'll interpret them and include them around the gourd. See that little image to right? Gus loved to play with socks. Every once in awhile he'd get one pulled over his head! Go figure. The words on the back are taken from the sympathy card sent by Gus' vet, reproduced faithfully in content and style. That's his paw print. My urns are important to me. We may speak on the phone, communicate via email. I will need photos. Tell me if your pet had an ear that didn't stand up straight. Tell me if your cat's tail was shorter than most. Details matter to me. Tell me colors you like and colors you can't abide. I will think about your pet and dream about your pet and together we'll create a functional piece of highly personal art. The chosen gourd will be sufficient to contain the cremains, a favorite toy, leash, collar. Usually four to six images are portrayed, sized to fit according to my aesthetic eye. It may be more. It may be less. They'll be sketched, then pyrographed, then painted. The piece may utilize pull tabs and or bottle caps in some capacity unless you're set against them. Start to finish is usually about 30 days. Price includes USPS domestic priority mail/insurance. | |||

And not limited to tile but Glass, coins, mirror, What ever you can dream up on any object you can keep from the bulk trash sitting on the curb, waiting to sit in a landfill or dump for the next year to hundreds of years! I have said ever since recycling became designer and hip that it should cost less! If only for the fact of Rewarding the consumer for saving the planet, of course as well as cheaper to melt, re-pulp, re~fire etc then to manufacture new! well as with all trends the cost goes up because the "fat cats" can charge what they want to the got to fit in, trend followers. SO...... My work is low in price everything in my "recycled world" Cause your doing the right thing! Be Blessed | |||
| add to favorites | Denim Rag Rug | $ 45.00 | |
|
The apparel and textile industries, while creating clothes for fashion-hungry consumers, are also among the largest creators of waste. For example, according to city estimates, remnant fabrics and used clothing in Los Angeles account for up to 10 percent of trash in landfills. Charitable organizations such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army and Goodwill recirculate used clothing. But what do charitable organizations do with the clothing they can’t sell? Most often – items are tossed into their dumpsters. And even though the manufacturing base has contracted in recent years, the remaining apparel and textile producers still account for a good percentage of textile waste. Putting a pair of old jeans back into use as a rag rug rather than in the dump can save valuable resources. One company estimated that it takes as much as 8,000 liters of water to grow the cotton used for just one pair of jeans. Instead of wasting the resources by placing spent jeans into landfills, I reuse jeans by creating rag rugs, establishing a new use for the once discarded textile. A cross between a rug and a mat, this rag rug design is perfect for entryways, bathrooms and kitchens. Standing on one in your bare feet will make you a believer – this rag rug provides a wonderful foot massage. You choice in shape, oval, heart or round.
